Gears
Texaco Cygnus® Gear Oils provide performance well above that found in typical white mineral oils often used in the food industry. Used as a multipurpose lubricant, Texaco Cygnus Gear Oils help reduce inventory yet provide excellent antiwear protection, long service intervals, and rust protection. They also pass the acute aquatic toxicity (LC 50) test for fish and are considered inherently biodegradable.

Texaco Cygnus® Oils are recommended for enclosed gear sets, reduction gears, and gear drives that are located in the food processing operation.   
Grease Lubricated Machinery
Texaco Cygnus® Greases are multipurpose lubricants for all grease lubricated machinery in canneries, beverage bottlers and canners, potato/corn chip processors, candy manufacturers, meat and poultry packers, frozen food processors, and other food producers and processors. NLGI 1 and 2 are preferred for general plant lubrication including applications such as electric motors and wheeled vehicles where USDA H2 lubricants are often used. NLGI 2 is also recommended for those applications where the grease is exposed to high temperatures, steam and centrifugal action causing throw-off.

Additional applications for Texaco Cygnus® Greases include pump shaft bearings, conveyor belts, mechanical linkages, automatic lube systems grease gun applications, grease package bearings, slides and ways, wheel bearings, grease fittings, and seamers.

Hydraulic Systems
Texaco Cygnus® Hydraulic Oils are recommended for high-pressure hydraulic systems, air compressors, and the lubrication of bearings and lightly-loaded gears. They may also be used where contamination of potable water is possible. Texaco Cygnus® Hydraulic Oils are multipurpose lubricants that provide oxidation inhibition, are odorless and tasteless, and offer excellent antiwear, corrosion and rust protection.

 
Heat Transfer Fluid
Designed for use in the immersion or spray freezing equipment of packaged poultry or wrapped meat under the Federal Meat and Poultry Products Inspection Program, Texaco Texcool® P 200 is a silicate-free, industrial coolant and heat transfer agent. It meets requirements for food-grade applications, provides excellent heat transfer properties and corrosion protection for brass, copper, solders, steel and cast iron. Texaco Texcool® P 200 is a concentrate requiring dilution before use.
