Chevron Products for Power Generation

Chevron provides power operations and maintenance managers with reliable lubrication products and solutions for plants using a variety of power generation systems, including emerging wind-power systems. For the increasing use of natural gas engines and aeroderivative turbines for power generation, Chevron has produced next-generation lubricants to keep these machines online.

Steam, Hydroelectric & Gas Turbines
Chevron GST® 2300 Oils are design to meet the critical lubrication needs of combined cycle turbines, large heavy-duty industrial gas turbines, and gas and steam turbines with and without loaded gearboxes. Chevron GST® 2300 oils have exceptional high temperature thermal stability, oxidation resistance and low sludging potential. They also incorporate corrosion inhibition and have excellent water separation. The oils meet or exceed OEM requirements, including those from General Electric, Siemens Westinghouse, Solar, Cincinnati Lamp, British Standar, DIN and ASTM.

Chevron GST® Oils are designed for gas, steam, and hydroelectic turbine bearing lubrication. They have outstanding thermal and oxidation stability, plus nonvolatile oxidation and corrosion inhibition.

Additional Chevron turbine lubricants:
  • Chevron AIO – multifunction lubricants recommended for use in electric motor bearings, air compressors, high speed gears, hydroelectric turbines, steam turbines and combustion turbine generators.
  • Chevron Synthetic Turbine Oil SGT – designed for modified aviation-type gas turbines exposed to the most severe operating environments in non-aviation applications, such as industrial power generation.

Industrial Coolants
Chevron Delo® Extended Life Coolants (ELC) include patented technology that keeps cooling systems running cooler, cleaner, and with less downtime. Recommended for virtually all diesel and natural gas engines, Delo® Extended Life Coolant meets the requirements of many manufacturers, including Caterpillar, Cummins, and Detroit Diesel. Outstanding protection and long fluid service life mean lower maintenance costs, reduced inventory costs from long storage life, and broad usage across different engine types.

Screw Compressors
Chevron HDAX® NG Screw Compressor Oil is well suited to meet the needs of a variety of screw compressors such as Frick, Howden, Mycom, and Ariel. It is specifically designed for use in a natural gas environment and is not meant for use in ammonia or air compressors. This technologically-advanced lubricant,  developed with input from major compressor manufacturers, reaches operating pressure faster from cold starts, stays viscous at high temperatures and helps protect from the corrosive effects of sour gas.

Bearings
Chevron Ulti-Plex® Greases EP – multipurpose, high performance greases specially formulated for extreme pressure bearing applications operating under high and low temperature conditions. They are recommended for applications operating in the temperature range of -26°C to 177°C (-15°F to 350°F).
Chevron Ulti-Plex® HV Synthetic Grease EP – multipurpose, high performance grease specially formulated for extreme pressure bearing applications operating under the most extreme high and low temperature conditions, and for those applications requiring extended lubrication intervals. They are recommended for applications with operating temperatures up to 232°C (450°F) with a dropping point of approximately 280°C (536°F).
Chevron SRI Grease – recommended for ball and roller bearings, antifriction bearings operating at high speeds in high temperatures, or where there is likelihood of corrosion. Chevron SRI Grease is excellent in unsealed electric motor bearings operating in moist conditions and where silent operations are required.
Chevron Black Pearl® Greases EP - particularly effective in providing excellent wear protection in heavily loaded and shock load conditions. The provide outstanding film strength and adhesive properties, stay in place by sticking to bearing surfaces (including wet surfaces) and provide excellent lubrication under a wide range of operating conditions.
