The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) publishes standards that are used by companies worldwide as a framework to guide their organizations toward improved performance. The ISO 9001:2000 series comprise standards ranging from customer focus and leadership to process approach and continual improvement.
What Does ISO 9001:2000 Certification Mean to You? The ISO 9001:2000 standards address quality management of product development those processes that Chevron employ to develop and produce products or services. Chevron uses these process standards to help ensure that products:
- Enhance customer satisfaction, both in the value that is received from the product, but also the quality of service before and after the sale
- Fulfill applicable regulatory requirements
- Continually achieve process performance improvements
Chevron's Latin America ISO Certification Chevron submits its quality process to an ISO-accredited third-party organization. If Chevron meets ISO standards, the accredited certifier issues a certificate of compliance. To maintain that certificate, we undergo an external audit every six months, and the certificate is then revalidated every three years. ISO certification of Chevron's Latin America operations includes:
- Chevron Global Lubricants operations in Latin America, including Argentina, Brazil Rio Lubricants Plant, Brazil Osasco Grease Plant, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, and El Salvador
- The Chevron Brazil Technology Center and its contracted affiliates
- The certification in these countries typically includes the plants and facilities that design, develop, manufacture, and service lubricant products
