Cement & Construction Industries

Equipment reliability is critical to the construction and cement industries that depend on the timely and efficient completion of projects. Implementing efficient lubrication service schedules helps to ensure the reliability of equipment operating under a variety of conditions and constraints. High-quality, high-performance Texaco oils, greases and specialty products are developed so that you can get the most out of your equipment.

Chevron Global Lubricants fullly services the needs of the cement and construction industries and the vehicles and equipment on which it depends—from fixed and mobile concrete mixers, cranes and hoists, to piling equipment, crushing equipment and rotary kilns.

Other Cement & Construction Equipment
Cement and construction vehicles include fixed and mobile concrete mixers, which may be diesel or electric motor-driven. In addition to the lubrication points on the mixer itself, mixer vehicles require diesel engine and chassis lubrication.
  • Four-stroke diesel engines — Ursa Super Premium TDX Multigrade is recommended for naturally aspirated, turbocharged or supercharged diesel engines in transport vehicles for all types of service.
  • Chains and Chain Drives — Crater Fluid M (open) and Rando HD 100 (closed)
  • Hydraulic Systems — Rando HDZ and Rando HD 32 – 68 provide maximum hydraulic pump protection.
  • Cooling Systems—Extended Life Coolant System is a highly effective, long-term corrosion inhibitor package.

Piling Equipment
Pile driving equipment most commonly used includes pile borers/augers, pile hammers, extractors, and winches.

Crushing and Milling Equipment|
Jaw crushers, gyratory crushers and hammer crushers are operated in dusty and severe conditions, requiring regular lubrication maintenance.

Cranes and Hoists
Cranes range from hydraulic truck-mounted boom cranes to winch or cable-drum tower cranes. Hoists and platform hoists  are also used to move equipment and workers.
  • Engines — Ursa Premium TDX Multigrade is a super, high-performance diesel engine oil that is ideal for high-demand heavy construction equipment. It meets major manufacturers' services requirements, including Caterpillar, Cummins, Mercedes-Benz, DDC/MTU, MTU. Ursa Super TD Multigrade is used for diesel and gasoline engines operating across a wide temperature range, especially mixed fleets with four-stroke diesel and gasoline engines.
  • Hydraulic Systems — Rando HDZ, Rando HD 32 – 68
  • Wheel Bearings — Grease filled, Starplex 2, Marfak All Purpose 2;
  • Wire Ropes, Open Chain Drives, Open Gears — Crater Fluid M provides strong resistance to washout, low environmental impact, and high film strength for excellent anti-wear protection.

Conveyors and Elevators
Belt conveyors, screw conveyor and augers, and bucket elevators are the primary components in this category of construction equipment.

Rotary Kilns
Rotary kilns are typically the largest equipment in cement works and require extremely accurate lubrication of critical parts, such as runnion bearings and kiln girth gear and pinion.

Grinding Mills
Raw and finish-grinding cement mills have similar lubrication requirements. However, because finish-grinding mills generate high heat it is critical to select the correct lubricant viscosity.

Other Cement & Construction Equipment
The product recommendations provide general lubrication guidelines for some of the equipment used in the cement and construction industries. Many of the lubricants specified are also used in air compressors, classifiers and separators, crushers, winches, pipelayers, vibrators and pumps.
Multiple products are shown in some places due to varying manufacturers' requirements. Refer to the manufacturers' lubrication and viscosity requirements for exact information.

Please consult with your local Chevron representative for the best lubricant choice for your application.
